South Africans can now travel to Mauritius on authorised<br \/>\ncommercial flights without first having to spend fifteen (15) days outside the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe welcome the decision by the Mauritian government. South Africa remains a proximity and<br \/>\npriority market for tourism on the island. We are delighted that we will be able to restart our<br \/>\nlong-standing relationship after an 18-month ban on travel,\u201d says Arvind Bundhun, Director of<br \/>\nthe Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA).<\/p>\n<p>Authorised commercial flights from South Africa to Mauritius will commence on 01 October<br \/>\n2021 namely Air Mauritius, Comair South Africa, SAA and Fly Safair.<br \/>\nFrom 01 October 2021, fully vaccinated travellers from South Africa, will be allowed to stay at<br \/>\nany hotel, resort or accommodation of their choice and move freely around the island.<br \/>\nUnvaccinated travellers will have to undergo 14 days quarantine in a state designated<br \/>\nquarantine facility.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMauritius has worked hard to develop and implement protocols that will keep both travellers<br \/>\nand citizens as safe as possible from Covid-19 and the effects of the pandemic.
