Für einen Besuch der Rochester Falls sollten Sie Badekleidung, Handtuch und eine Kamera nicht vergessen. Dieser 10 m hohe Wasserfall im Süden von Mauritius, nur 2,5 km von Souillac entfernt, ist berühmt für die zerklüfteten, rechteckigen Felsen, die seine Felswand bilden, und diente als Kulisse in zahlreichen Bollywood-Filmen.
Aufmerksamen Lesern wird der Name des Wasserfalls bekannt vorkommen, denn er wurde von Charlotte Brontes Roman Jane Eyre aus dem Jahr 1847 inspiriert. Dieser beeindruckende Wasserfall ist ein fantastischer Ort, um an einem heißen mauritischen Tag zu baden, und bietet eine traumhafte Kulisse für ein Picknick. Wir empfehlen jedoch, einen Besuch während oder nach starkem Regen zu vermeiden, da es dann rutschig werden kann und der Wasserstand steigen kann.
