Der größte Hindu-Tempel in Mauritius befindet sich in Triolet. Der Maheswarnath Mandir ist Lord Shiva gewidmet und verfügt über schöne weiße Säulen, kunstvolle florale Designs und Skulpturen. Auch als Triolet-Tempel bekannt, ist dies einer der ältesten Tempel in Mauritius und wurde 1888 vom Priester Pandit Sanjbunlall Ramsoondur gegründet.
Im Inneren finden Sie einen Shiva Linga, Statuen der Göttin Parvati (der Frau von Lord Shiva) und von Nandi, der heiligen Kuh. Innerhalb dieses Gebäudes finden Sie auch einige kleinere Tempel. Ein Besuch lohnt sich, wenn Sie im Norden der Insel sind und mehr über die hinduistische Kultur erfahren möchten.
