Mauritius bolsters regional presence with landmark Réunion Island meeting and workshop

The Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) has launched a strategic push in Réunion Island to boost destination visibility and cement ties with the local travel trade. During a high-level meeting on 24 March 2026, MTPA officials and key local industry stakeholders tackled current market challenges and aligned on joint initiatives. This renewed partnership focuses on a shared vision: making Mauritius the premier choice for every traveller in Réunion Island.

The momentum continued on 25 March 2026 with a collaborative workshop uniting Mauritian stakeholders and travel agencies from Réunion Island. This session allowed the MTPA to showcase its latest high-visibility marketing initiatives and reassure the market that Mauritius remains a safe and attractive short-haul destination for Réunion Island travellers.

With these new initiatives and strengthened partnerships, the MTPA is shifting its Réunion strategy into full gear. The focus now turns to implementation, ensuring that Mauritius remains the top-of-mind destination for the people from Réunion Island looking for their next escape.
