NEWS ABOUT MAURITIUS

Travel restrictions extended until 31 May 2021

22 April 2021

Our borders will remain closed until 31 May 2021.

We have been vaccinating our frontline workers, which includes those who work in the tourism industry. Over 20% of the island’s population has been vaccinated so far. In the past few days, we have taken delivery of 100,000 more vaccine doses and placed an order for 500,000 more doses.

This will allow our vaccination programme to continue to meet our objective of 700,000 vaccinations before tourism can restart.

The phased easing of travel restrictions is expected from the end of June 2021.
