The lush green fields of Le Domaine de Saint Aubin were once dedicated to sugar cultivation. Now a stop on the historic Tea Trail, it’s famous for its old colonial house and traditional rum distillery.
The estate is close to the south coast of the island, near Riviere des Anguilles. Here, walk around the grounds at your own pace or take a tour and find tropical spice gardens, vanilla orchids and anthurium nurseries. Rum tastings are available, too.
No visit is complete without a stop by the old house, which has been preserved as a National Heritage Site. Inside, you’ll find a traditional dining room serving lunch with beautiful garden views.
